It seems to me that there is a significant difference between opposing funding for Ukraine and actively rooting for Putin to succeed. I understand the rationale behind the former position but not the latter. Way too many people here who claim to be patriots and conservatives are in the latter group.

I wondered the same and seems like Americans cheering for Russian advances in Europe have these lines of thinking. Feel free to add:

1) The faster Russia wins, the less we will have to spend on defense. Putin was provoked and needs a buffer state just half the length of Europe to feel safe. After taking Ukraine, he will be good we promise. We totally get him bro 👌

2) Russia is the last bastion of Christianity/conservatism and anywhere Russia hoists their flag becomes a carbon copy of 1950s America. We would rather live under Russia than watch our children become nazi crossdressers under globohomo.

3) Russian troll farms pushing the above.
