My wife sold high end cars. Keys were kept on a board in a cheap cabinet, designated by parking space number. Any employee would know which key to which car.
I get that, but couldn’t the keeps be kept in a somewhat more expensive cabinet that could be locked when the dealership is closed? Dealership opens, boss unlocks the cabinet and it’s business as usual.
Of course ‘teens’ breaking into dealerships to steal cars they apparently can’t drive might be a more recent phenomenon. Two days after theft cars wouldn’t find themselves in a shipping container bound for West Africa.
