Transcript: Election 2024: The Stakes with Paul Ryan (Eddie Munster alert)
WaPo Live via MSN ^ | February 21, 2024 | Paul Kane

Posted on 02/22/2024 7:52:10 PM PST by DoodleBob

MR. KANE: You're still on the board of Fox, correct?

MR. RYAN: Yes.

MR. KANE: And do you feel as if Fox could do a better job of promoting some of the values that you are talking about?

MR. RYAN: Well, we do quite a bit. I mean, obviously, as you know, Tucker no longer works at Fox, and he was let go. I won't go into all the details of that, other than what Fox, they had--there's opinion, and then there's news, and news reports all of these aspects. And there are people with opinions that give their opinions.

And look, I'm in the minority in my party right now. I'm not in the establishment. I'm frankly an anti-establishment Republican, and I think you can safely argue--I don't enjoy acknowledging this--that Trump is the establishment, and Trump populism is the establishment.

…party.. is really dominated by Trump populism, and that is culture war populism. It's zero-sum game politics. So we don’t--it’s not--it's not conservatism as I would describe it, classical liberal conservatism, where a party is based on principles and policies that achieve goals and ends that are timeless. …

The reason I always made the electability argument is we do lose with him. He only won 2016. That's the only election he's ever won.

"What will it take to break Trump's stronghold on the Republican Party?‘… after we string up some more losses, and we prove that this populism, which is not tethered under principle, but to a person's personality, is just not strong enough, durable enough to build a majoritarian party. When we finally realize that after stringing some losses, then we will have a soul-searching, which gives us this kind of fusion that hopefully out of that builds a majoritarian party,

Oh, NOW Ryan is “anti-establishment”. ROFL!

Alrighty then, where Ryan and his ilk are concerned, I’m antidisestablishmentarian and I practice antidisestablishmentarianism :-)

PRyno remains totally demented.

He should admit that he is an Assistant Democrat.

So let me get this straight, if we lose enough elections, I’ll start voting for liberal Republicans again? Yeah, that ain’t gonna happen. Let this country crash.

“... a party is based on principles and policies that achieve goals and ends ...”

That is exactly what MAGA does.

The RINO goals have been to surrender to every leftwing legislation pushed by the demoncraps. In that sense, the GOPe can be said to have succeeded.

It's the reason the voting public has turned instead to a fighter under the MAGA banner.

Another closet homo. He should debate Biden now, he might have a chance of not losing.

NEVER FORGET that Paul Ryan as Speaker knew every last detail and signed off on the Seditious Conspiracy to Overthrow a United States President, known as Russian Collusion. He should be right up there swinging with the rest of them.

There’s nothing like being lectured to on the subject of winning by a loser like Ryan.

I know Ryan is a dipstick, but when I read that idiotic statement I realized that Huxley omitted a class below the Epsilon-Minus Semi-Moron.
