I have a side by side Kenmore fridge.

2004 or so

works well

had a problem in the beginning diagnosed as being in the cpu. the appliance guy put in 20s instead of 15s fuses and never had any more problems

HOWEVER the doors are rusting under the water ice dispenser, and chipping in a couple of spots elsewhere.

I wish I could find someone to paint it. I would. It works better than any other fridge in the area.

Korean is superior? lol...

LG and Samsung are Korean...yukyuk..I was told they’re some of the worse...

__________________________________________________

Our survey also revealed that LG French-doors, side-by-sides, and built-ins were more prone to having compressors that break or are faulty than competing models made by other brands. The same goes for Kenmore French-doors, which have compressors manufactured by LG. In 2020, LG settled a class-action lawsuit over its refrigerator compressors, but the settlement didn’t cover Kenmore models manufactured by LG.

Samsung refrigerators have been cited in hundreds of complaints to the Consumer Product Safety Commission because of malfunctioning icemakers and temperatures that are too warm, leading to spoiled food. Many of the complaints involve Samsung French-door refrigerators, which received a subpar rating for predicted reliability and a poor rating for owner satisfaction in CR’s survey results.

It seems to be the same old story with a lot of stuff sold nowadays. Too expensive to buy, breaks down too soon after purchase & you can’t afford to fix it either. The cheapest appliances may be the best appliances, although I’ve heard that certain brands are more susceptible to breakdown. If you are lucky, maybe an appliance dealer might tell you which brands tend to be troublesome.

My wife is a pretty good sport on most things like that. The charcoal gray doesn’t clash too badly with the white cabinets and pale gray floor of the laundry room. I don’t think either of us even thinks about the color at this point. And she got her all stainless kitchen around the same time, which was much higher up on her priority list.

It also helped that the gray one had the steam feature that we liked, but didn’t want to pay extra for, lol.

Sounds like FUBO is a bunch of jerks. Our credit card company is pretty good about reversing charges if we’re not getting customer service from a company. But then again I refuse to pay for more than basic Netflix and Amazon Prime, and we cut cable years ago.

Sporting events that are available in our area on broadcast TV we can’t watch because we don’t have line of sight to any American stations. There are some folks nearby who use a VPN and pirate the streams via overseas websites.

“Our credit card company is pretty good about reversing charges”

We have several Chase cards. In going through all of our charges the past few years with a fine-tooth comb, I found some fraud that they reversed. I think they have a three or four year time limit on fraud.

BUT, I learned you have only 118 days to contest a charge with a merchant like this case with Fubo. We are beyond the 118 day by about 20 days and Chase says “we can’t help you.” I’m really steamed because we were fighting with Fubo ourselves for a lot of that 118 day period. If I’d known about Chase’s rule, we would have given up on Fubo a lot earlier and contested it with Chase. Looks like we are out $78 now. The whole thing hacks me off.

I am in an apt building. I did the wash on wednesday and used the Speedqueen front loader washer which was installed maybe 3 months ago. It was a used model then.
The clothes get wet but there is no water to soak the clothes and the rinse cycle is no better.

I smell the laundry detergent from others that use the washer. Not enough water to rinse the clothes and wash out the washer.
Plus the clothes just get tossed thru the dirty water, what little there is of it.

I notified the manager who notified the repair guy who is coming out as one of the dryers is not working.
There are big complaints about front loaders when doing a search that there is not enough water and mold and leaks.
I have seen the Speedqueen leak already and not enough water. Waiting on mold...

The two other washers are top loaders. The top loader will fill the tub and the clothes wash better.
We need to get rid of the EPA as they have made appliances not work well.

I’ve heard similar complaints about front loaders in general, don’t know about Speed Queen in particular. I have never had a front loader, and only ever used one once, when I had to wash a sleeping bag many years ago. That was a laundromat machine and it seemed to work OK, no idea what make it was.

My folks built their home in 1948 and were gifted a Frigidaire fridge as a housewarming gift. It never died, but the door latch broke, and being so old, a replacement just wasn’t available. We bid our final goodbye in 1984. Thing was built like a WWII tank.
