Poll Reveals Consensus: Migration Curbs Are Good for U.S.
Breitbart ^ | 02/16/2024 | NEIL MUNRO

Almost 70 percent of Americans say the U.S. would benefit from new curbs on migration at the southern border, according to an Economist/YouGov poll of 1,671 citizens.

The February 11-13 poll asked, “If Congress passes a new bill restricting the admission of new migrants at the border, do you think this would be good or bad for the United States?”

Sixty-nine percent of the Americans responded that it would be “good,” while only 14 percent predicted “bad.”

That result shows five Americans believe migration curbs will benefit America for every one American who believes migration curbs would be harmful.

The new national consensus against southern migration comes after President Joe Biden and Democrats vigorously backed a Senate bill that they suggested would sharply curb their huge wave of southern migration.

Average Democrat: Yes, we need to curb illegal immigration. And inflation is out of control. Anyway, I’ll be voting straight D again in November.

You just can’t fix stupid. Well, maybe you can. But first you’ve got to somehow neutralize the mainstream media. It’s nothing more than the propaganda arm of the Democrat party.

We do not need a “new bill”. They need to enforce the current laws. Go after employers who are employing them under the table. Prevent tax dollars from going to them.

That’s manure. Every wonder who is processing and stopping others from crossing the border over rivers and open land that we see on TV crossing without border security forcing them into the check points. And you can be assured there are far more tha 5,000 of them with that many miles of border to cover. So is cutting back the check point numbers being processed daily going to have an effect if it just forces them to cross illegally elsewhere. Yeah, the effect wil be more illegal border crossings, not less. And it will more than make up the ones not processed daily.

70%-75% of naturalized USA citizens, and their USA born children, vote for the Democratic Party.

If 70%-75% voted for the Republican Party, massive legal and illegal immigration would have been shut down decades ago!

The never ending propaganda is amazing. Phrasing it as such implies that this is the fault of congress and not the direct fault of Biden refusing to enforce existing laws and/or insitutitiong policies that encourage illegal immigration.

Re: "The mainstream media. It's nothing more than the propaganda arm of the Democrat Party."

I disagree.

I think the Democratic Party is the Political Wing of the Main Stream Media.

The MSM leadership is much better paid, much more professionally secure, and much more intelligent than the leadership of the Democratic Party.

70% of the people have been against illegal immigration for generations, hasn’t stopped the powers-that-be from keeping the border wide open.

This is I believe most immigrants learn about the US through the mainstream media. This is also why most people overseas who only knew the US through media and movies assume the Democrats are the good guys and Republicans are the bad guys in the US.

You are exactly correct. One of the new border bills floating around authorizes the president to close the border when certain conditions are met.

That sounds good on the surface. But it’s trash. And that’s because “authorizes” is very different from “requires”.

If that bill passes, the Republicans will be fooled again. But they don’t care. They want to be fooled.

Only 70%. Worst news I’ve heard in a long time.

The question misleadingly implies that Biden’s hands are tied, short of new legislation, in stopping this.
