Not surprised with so many businesses closing their doors - in California, b/c of mass shoplifting.

Just in the last month two of Albany's (NY Capital) most well known bar/restaurants in downtown are up for sale, and doubtful they will continue. Crime, pollution, people wandering with mental illness, it's as predictable as the sunrise/sunset.

I saw recently PA Dems had won the last 6 or 7 special elections.

Trump needs to pivot to only speaking about his record. How he will begin to get us out of this mess. And policy failures of Biden. He should get serious. No mocking. We all know he has dementia. People are pissed and longing for leadership.

I understand people say Trump’s a known entity. Many people did not pay attention. Have never paid attention. Or believed the media. Did not vote. NOW they are tuned in.

Make every possible sound bite the media could choose, be policy related.

I would think that it would hurt retail sales when they allow people to fill their carts and just walk out without paying.

I believe people are too stupid for any meaningful change. Unless there’s a great awakening to Christ, I see only minimal change at best.

Exactly. The credit card companies won’t be fudging their numbers on what’s owed to them because so many Americans are being forced to use their credit cards more and more. I volunteer on weekends at a local food bank. I’m seeing and talking to more and more two income families who are struggling to make ends meet to pay for rent/mortgage, utilities and food. Those are the folks I give extra food to and it makes me mad that our country is doing this to hardworking people.

The set of wheels to show off your wealth to others isn’t an exotic sports car - it’s a full shopping cart.

My relatives are complaining about the cost of daycare for their two kids. Several thousand a month and all wife’s salary goes to pay for it. Wife can’t quit a good job because of long-term expenses for kids.

The “experts” have been forecasting rate cuts for many months—totally wrong.

The experts are talking their book.

Large swaths of downtown San Francisco are now void of any businesses - there is even a tourist industry springing up to see the “ruins of San Francisco” - if you also enjoy watching drug-addled and mentally ill shoot up right in public. Entire area smells like urine, we rode through on bikes to get to the Embarcadero and I almost fell off of my bike (not kidding).

So Cal has the same large swaths of closed businesses and restaurants - and even the fast food joints are threatening to close - but that is due more to rampant theft and shoplifting - and fast food workers getting $20/hour to flip burgers. Most take-out places now, you order from a kiosk, there is a skeleton crew, and AI is going to replace the drive-thru.

LOL, be careful what you wish for. Those who voted for it deserve it, but not the rest of us who don’t enjoy watching our home cities destroyed via Democrat politics.

Also, initial claims for unemployment insurance totaled 212,000 for the week ended Feb. 10, a decline of 8,000 from the previous week’s upwardly revised total and below the estimate for 220,000.

Until next week's upward revision.

Excellent strategy, but I would bet that is NOT the one being employed by the majority of shoppers using plastic for groceries...
