The Harris County Sheriff's Office in Texas released body camera videos one week after a woman was shot by deputies after allegedly being mistaken for an intruder.
On Feb. 3, deputies responded to a burglary at the Pines of Woodforest Apartments in the Cloverleaf area at about 2 a.m.
The caller spoke with our sister station, ABC13 Eyewitness News in Houston, last week, saying he wishes he hadn't reported the suspected break-in, considering what happened next.
"I was sitting on my couch, and I just started hearing glass breaking," Mitchell said. "I heard [the sheriff's office] knock on the door, nobody responded, and then maybe five seconds later, I heard a gun."
Asst. Chief Tommy Diaz said deputies saw the apartment window broken, knocked, and announced their presence, but as they stepped away from the entrance, an armed woman could be seen through the window approaching the door.
Seconds later, deputies fired multiple rounds, striking 28-year-old Eboni Pouncy who shares the apartment with her girlfriend, but Diaz said she wasn't an intruder.

“I’m not going to answer that”
Here’s a clue:
Officers had to walk around an errant window screen...
“Daniel Shaver, Mesa, Arizona.”
Yep. The kid and his lady were impaired on alcohol and they knew this before hand from reports coming from the hotel staff before interaction. Yet instead of just making him lay down and stay there, which the kid did do when he was commanded, he made the kid crawl down the hallway 30 feet to him. Several times the kid’s shorts slid off and with automotor reflex habit he reached down and pulled them up without any idea he was even doing it. I think it was the third time he did this natural reaction to his shorts coming off the officer shot him for failure to obey commands. Why not the first time he did it? Why make him crawl all that way towards him? When it would have been safer for everyone for the officer to go to where he commanded the kid to lay down with his hands on his head.
Gurrl power strikes again.
“1) All guns are always loaded.
2) Never let the muzzle point at anything that you are not willing to destroy.
3) Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot.
4) Be sure of your target and what is behind it.”
Absolutely. But here is the problem. They are brainwashed into the perspective that civilian lives are just not important at all compared to their own lives. They are a privileged superior class over the livestock.
Some people are petty tyrants who get a sexual charge out of making people, especially men, OBEY. I'm not saying the so-called "officer" is one of those people. I'm just saying they exist.
And the poor kid BEGGED for his life. Crawling, obeying commands, unarmed, shorts coming off, begging and that bastard still killed him.
Yep. Even if they understand Rule 2, the lives of citizens are meaningless to them. The corollary to that is that even if they understand Rule 4, citizens are just like the berm at the range to them.
You are absolutely right. I have witnessed this from officers many many times. I have even had them brag and laugh about it. There is a rampant environment of sadism that is similar to strong racism towards civilians.
“And the poor kid BEGGED for his life. Crawling, obeying commands, unarmed, shorts coming off, begging and that bastard still killed him.”
Yep, he WAS obeying commands as he was told even though the commands were stupid and irrational considering the situation. The officer purposely pushed him until he thought he had an excuse to shoot him.
New bodycam footage shows Okaloosa County, FL Deputy Jesse Hernandez declaring "shots fired!" and "I'm hit!" and shooting at the handcuffed, unarmed suspect inside of his police car. He had not been shot, rather, it was determined that he heard an acorn drop onto the car.
But, he had been drinking It's called socializing.
Perfectly wholesome and legal American pastime.
Brailsford and his seargeant both felt they did nothing wrong.
Daniel Shavers committed no crime, but these POS got away with murder and are proud of it.
Back the blue, until it happens to you.
And what the arrogant numb-nuts don’t realize is that they are civilians, too. If they want to play army they need to enlist and ask for an 11B mos.
Doesn't matter, this was a bad shoot...way bad.
These chicks should go down hard.
Hope the victim recovers.
The payout should be huge and should come out of the police retirement / investment fund, not Joe Taxpayer's pocket.
“Pouncy was taken to the hospital and has since retained high-profile civil rights attorney Ben Crump to represent her as she explores legal actions.”
He is, exactly, that, a petty tyrant.
A real POS. Felt they did nothing wrong.
He retired to the Phillipines.
Probably was afraid of running into one of Daniel's friends or relatives, who might "ask him some hard questions", so to speak.
Appears so.
” I’m not saying the so-called “officer” is one of those people.”
He was. Watch the video. The tyrant in blue was full on getting off on ordering that guy around, and making him beg for his life.
This tyrant also had “You’re F+++d” etched on the dust cover of the AR he used to murder that guy. He was looking for an excuse to shoot someone.
By the way, it was ruled a good shoot by the police internal investigators. Shocker, I know.
There was Atatiana Johnson in Texas. Texas woman hears noises outside her house, picks up handgun. Cop shoots her through window, killing her. What ever happened to shouts of “police!”
Same thing happened to homeowners in NJ and SC, although they survived.
Solid curtains on all windows and security cameras, don’t look through windows or peephole I guess.
Who killed Atatiana Jefferson?
