Outside of the US, who cares about the Super Bowl?

An aside- I love how the NFL says World Champions when zero other countries play.

Per the UK’s Daily Mail, and apologies for the source, the Super Bowel was watched by 114 million people.

Globally.

If accurate, that number sucks.

But the US number alone would have sucked much more.

The NFL needs eyeballs and much better demos.

And thanks to crawling into to bed with Deep State, the NFL won’t get them here, will it.

Hence the wall to wall coverage in the UK’s enemedia.

And the stunt casting of Taylor Swift.

Note to the NFL: God help the league if we restore the republic. Taxpayers will demand their money back.

Most of the people outside the US watching the Super Bowl are expats and people on vacation.

A buddy of mine is on vacation in Costa Rica. He sent me a picture of the outdoor restaurant they were at with a big flat screen TV. In the background the sun was setting over the Pacific ocean. The sky was reddish orange. It looked beautiful.

I am sure that there are a lot of people in other countries that may watch it, but have about as much interest as I do in the World Cup.

I love how the NFL says World Champions when zero other countries play.

The NFL easily gets the most talented football players from around the world to play in the league, so there is no real competition for the world title.

Most of the foreigners good enough to play are kickers, from Garo Yepremian (Armenian) to Jan Stenerud (Norway) to Sebastian Janikowski (Polish). Non-kickers include the great Bronko Nagurski (Canadian) and Osi Umenyiora (Nigerian edge rusher). Hines Ward and Ted Hendricks were born in South Korea and Guatemala, but I suspect they are ethnically American.

Football requires talent and training and coaching. While worldwide the talent might exist, the football-specific training and coaching certainly does not. The champion football team of the world is the Kansas City Chiefs.
