Very. My father, uncles, cousins, bazillions of friends from seminary, are Baptist preachers, but Independent Baptists.
SBC members who put money in offering plates should know that some of that money goes up the hierarchy to fund questionable causes. Having no hierarchy in Independent churches lets the membership control where the tithes and offerings go because everything is local.
