You just posted why the NFA rules for short barreled shotguns and rifles are archaic and racist. Not that I see anything through the race lens, but these gun restrictions come with congressional testimony we can still read and many contain fear of minorities having guns.
IMHO, there’s no better home/truck defensive weapon than a short barreled 12 or 20 gauge shotgun followed by a short barreled rifle.
Use a blunderbuss pistol ... kitch, cool factor ... and assuming your attacker survives he has a story to tell about that time he got shot, rather than be storyless and forever upet.
