When you behead your own father your issues are beyond political.
My best guess? He’s a psychotic leftist who wanted to kill his father and took the opportunity to also try and damage conservatism.
Father was a federal employee? Isn’t usually a republican.

More likely true if in DC area. However, out here in the sticks, Chicago, 5 of 5 of myself and 4 fellow federal retirees from same DOJ office are as rock-ribbed conservative as there are! Of course this is anecdotal and we are all “old school” so no way to extrapolate.
