You didn't need one to get drafted or get sent to Viet Nam.
Why is it such a big deal now?
I wonder how many Viet Nam era vets got their GED after being drafted?
Everyone drafted didn't go into combat. Getting drafted might have been the best thing to happen to millions of young men.
