Well, I have never known of Russia attacking the Brits. But since at least the 1850s, Brits have constantly attacked, prodded, overflew, and pushed for internal turmoil in Russia. Brits did it whether Russia was a monarchy, communist, a republic, whatever.
Brits just cannot accept that the empire is gone.
So yeah, Brits really don’t need much more than a coast guard and a national guard.
By the way, the Russian Army was down to 10% of it’s Soviet Fulda Gap days when the war started. It’s a farce to think they were on some world conquest track.

Is it just me, or does the world seem Tolkien-esque now. The power of the West in decline, facing a menace from theEast and able to muster only a fraction of its former strength. I don’t see a king returning anytime soon, however.
To constantly push a narrative that war is inevitable will only lead to war. WWI was like this and totally avoidable. NATO was established to keep the peace and not to rattle cages and beat war drums. The Russian “threat” is a excuse to fuel the war machine deepstate ambitions.
The generation that went to fight the Japs and Germans did it for love of their country and culture. They were patriots. The rising generation today has been told over and over that America is crap and her culture is diseased. Anyone think they’ll fight and risk being slaughtered for that?
