Ukraine will change its citizenship law to allow foreign volunteer fighters to become Ukrainians, as well as “all ethnic Ukrainians” around the world to get passports, no matter how many generations different, the President has said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced a raft of new laws he had submitted to the national parliament (Verkhovna Rada) on Monday in a speech marking the Ukrainian Day of National Unity, an annual celebration of the short-lived 1917-era Ukrainian People’s Republic. Among the announcements are a serious liberalisation of Ukrainian citizenship law, allowing dual citizens for the first time and opening up passports to the global Ukrainian diaspora, as well as foreign military volunteers.

It is absurd for any of us to suggest a person has to volunteer to fight for
either side we support.
Russia has taken 20% of Ukraine, evidently they don’t need any help, nor has Putin done a world tour with his begging cup.

Agreed. But I have a half dozen absurd thoughts before I get out of bed. The key to thinking outside of the box is never let yourself get cornered into the box. That’s sorta been my philosophy.
That's been my position all along. Trump offered to broker a peace before this escalated. Of course he was turned down. The Deep State would rather half the globe be annihilated before giving Trump any recognition or praise. That's how much they hate him. It was/is a stupid war.
I am reminded by the old admonition that is is much better
to learn from history than repeat it.
The last time we allowed a nation to start picking off its
neighbors in Europe, we stayed out. We thought we were
keeping our nation safe. We also thought we were saving
a lot of money by doing it.
The next thing ya know, we had a Pacific, Asia, Africa, and
Europe operation going. Did we avoid getting involved?
Did it wind up saving our nation a boat load of expense.
I submit that letting Russia know it is going to have to
pay a very high price for every inch it tries to take, is
a great deterrent to him getting his jollies by attacking
other nations.
He’s already working on Finland, but helping facilitate
large immigration problems on its border.
This isn’t stopping at the Ukraine, and at some point
you guys must at least ponder the likelihood it will.

Putin offers citizenship to foreigners who fight for Russia as Russian soldiers or mercenaries.
“Jan 4 (Reuters) - President Vladimir Putin issued a decree on Thursday allowing foreign nationals who fight for Russia in Ukraine to obtain Russian citizenship for themselves and their families.
The order said people who have signed contracts during what Moscow calls its “special military operation” in Ukraine can apply to get Russian passports for themselves and their spouses, children and parents. They must provide documents showing that they signed up for a minimum of one year.
Those eligible include people who have signed contracts with the regular armed forces or other “military formations” - a description that could apply to groups such as the Wagner mercenary organisation.”

If we had stayed out of the war, the Germans would have
developed nuclear weapons, and the missiles to deliver
them. How would that have helped us?
