One of the small towns in Iowa that I am quite familiar with is not a great deal smaller than Perry, but it has had the whole nine yards of LGBTQ agitprop aimed at it for decades, including the public school instigating an on-site club for "student understanding." A number of homosexual graduates from the HS over the years have returned with regularity, flush with cash and often their latest "spouse." The mission: normalize everything. Get the local paper on board. Co-opt the usual declining protestant congregations in their now-underutilized churches.

It would be funny if it weren't met with the most sickening "we must be tolerant and not judgmental" response from people who ought to be outraged. As it is, whenever I hear about the latest example, I shake my head and say a silent thank you for the considerable number of Mexican migrants that have come in and politely but firmly said, "¡No!" to the whole sordid thing.

Anyway, this particular town is going to have some sort of LBGTQ-fueled incident -hopefully not a violent one - and the "right people" will confirm their cluelessness and/or disingenuousness with a statement similar to the one these parents issued.
