An American nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS Dwight D. Eisenhower is in the Red Sea, U.S. Naval Institute reported on Friday. The deployment is said to be a part of Washington’s effort to prevent the Iran-backed Houthis’ attack on vessels in the area.
“USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69), the flagship of the Dwight D. Eisenhower Carrier Strike Group, is in the Red Sea as part of U.S. efforts to prevent Houthi attacks on merchant ships, according to USNI News Fleet and Marine Tracker,” said U.S. Naval Institute.
Meanwhile, USS Gerald R. Ford is said to have headed back to the U.S. via the Atlantic as it withdrew from the Mediterranean. Earlier on Monday, the U.S. military was reported to bring its largest aircraft carrier strike group (CSG) back to its base in the state of Virginia.
The USS Dwight D. Eisenhower deployment comes as the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinked has kicked off his Middle Eastern tour in Turkey amid the multi-front tensions in the region that include Houthis’ hostilities in the Red Sea region.
The joint statement from the governments of the U.S., Australia, Bahrain, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, New Zealand, Republic of Korea, Singapore, and the UK, made earlier on Wednesday, read: “The Houthis will bear the responsibility of the consequences should they continue to threaten lives, the global economy, and free flow of commerce in the region’s critical waterways.”
Meanwhile, a former Houthi spokesperson told i24NEWS that Western threats would not deter the group.

I pray for the sailors and air crew on the Eisenhower task force. Iran really wants to sink a major US Naval vessel. They have created scale models of US Aircraft carriers and filmed them being destroyed for propaganda films.
Iran really deeply wants to damage a major US Navy vessel. I fear that the Carrier is a magnet that will attract Iranian attention and weapons. My only hope, is my faith in the Navy’s skill in deploying multiple weapons systems to protect the Carrier and its task force of support ships.
God’s will be done here!

Hopefully all the “woke” sailors were assigned to the USNS Harvey Milk and the Eisenhower carrier group has normal sailors.

Some 50 years ago, I answered the GQ alarm on two different warships. Though every time it was a drill, all us kids and Senior Petty Officers and officers took it very serious.
And, even today, it still kind of raises the hair on my arm just to think about what the history of GQ....” All hands man your battle stations”... really, really meant, particularly historically in MY family. Most forget that more Navy guys died in combat than marines in the Western Pacific.
In those days, there were no beards, no mustaches, no painted hair, no rings in the nose, almost no observable tattoos, no known gay guys, no girls, no GED’s, rare drug abuse cases and under CNO Zumwalt, no excuses.
While I love my Navy days in WestPac, I worry about todays Navy. A lot of those guys on the Ike, sailors and officers, are lefties.
Is the Eisenhower going to conduct offensive operations against the Houthis? If not what is it but a big target.
The group needs to be wiped out. Just like Hamas. And Hezbollah.
Nothing, by all appearances, Biden has once again abandoned Americans.
