I was always skeptical of “fact-checkers.” It was a new term. What? No one ever checked the facts before? So we go from no fact checkers to complete credence in “fact checkers” overnight.

It seemed odd. As odd as knowing that a rushed, not fully tested, therapy, issued under emergency use authorization with no liability on the part of developers was “safe and effective.”

Excellent point. It seemed to coincide with the dramatic increase in media gaslighting in recent years, along with the left's accusations of "conspiracy theory" or "misinformation" against any questioning of leftist dogma. It was clearly just another weapon in the left's war against dissent.
