DEI is on the run
Washington Examiner ^ | 1 Jan 2024 | Ed Board
FR Posted on 1/1/2024, 9:05:31 AM by Rummyfan

Diversity, equity, and inclusion, or DEI, in higher education was deceptively sold as a set of policies designed to promote “the fair treatment and full participation of all people,” particularly groups that “have historically been underrepresented.”

But DEI offices have proved to be epicenters of division and ideological conformity, stirring hostilities and imposing an intolerant monoculture.

Fortunately, 2023 saw more than a dozen states start to take action against the DEI hydra, with six achieving concrete steps that other states should follow.

In Florida, colleges and universities are no longer allowed to allocate any money to DEI programs. Institutions across the state have, in consequence, eliminated DEI jobs, such as chief diversity officers. This is greatly to the good of real education and social cohesion. These officers are often in charge of college “bias response teams” that function as “woke” police on campuses. A Supreme Court case is set to shut many of these programs down, but states can take proactive steps now to solve the problem faster.

Texas passed its law curbing excesses this year, eliminating all DEI office training for staff and, more importantly, eliminating diversity statements in hiring. Universities nationwide use mandatory diversity statements to enforce ideological conformity in disciplines as varied as physics, history, and psychology. Junking these loyalty oaths is a key step to diversifying thought on campuses.

Famous slobbering last words of Claudine Gay being considered as the DEI hire as Harvard president:
“I offer you my personal commitment to be a partner and ally in the work for diversity equity and justice.
I urge you all to lean into the profound optimism that animates our mission and join your colleagues
in building what will ultimately be a proud chapter in the long story of Harvard.”

It is clear that antisemitic students now control Harvard’s DEI-imbued campus, and they have the freedom to spew their poison with no accountability from the DEI-obsessed administration.

It took a congressional hearing, genocide questions, alums withdrawing millions of dollars, and leading companies pledging not to hire Harvard graduates, for the school even to notice its antisemitism problem.

Powerful legacy institutions in bed with DEI have larger budgets that often overshadow DEI’s tenterhooks embedded elsewhere in academia.

Let's see what college administrators do for a living when attendance collapses.

They could learn from fleas and ticks that it's not a good idea for a parasite to kill its host.

Good article.

Universities like Bates need to have their endowments seized and paid to white men throughout the country as reparations.

How many decades of anti-white hate are enough?

When this picture out of Communist China was first published, Americans were smug.
It can’t happen here. Well, now it is happening here.

...DEI offices have proved to be epicenters of division and ideological conformity stirring hostilities...

On the plus side, we can't underestimate the positive effect the Bud Light' movement had helping companies reject DEI horrors before they took root.

NOT letting commie monsters into positions of power in the first place is a lot easier than getting rid of them - as this college will find out. They're organized and know what they're doing but they CAN BE FIRED.

Yes, they made their bed over decades. Democrats/Libs took over colleges after Vietnam War. Conservative, Republicans went into other job fields not seeing he danger of the slow changing of future generations way of thinking. Communist manifesto. Take over our schools/education to break America.
Take over the media, by Dems/Libs going into fields of Journalism, Professorships.

I don’t understand why students don’t file lawsuits under Title 1X which protects against discrimination and harrassment for education.

Social justice warriors are now freely promulgating hate and racism with out any pretense. Should we start calling them Judeophobic or are they just garden variety bigots?
