Do not confuse WW 2’s generations with today’s youths. That said, Finland has a pitiful military.

“The Finnish Defense Forces employs a relatively modest 12,000 active troops from a population of 5.5 million. However, it has an estimated 280,000 reservists capable of fighting in wartime.…”

Fools, they will no doubt suffer immensely should a full blown war occur.

“Finland trains some 21,000 new conscripts every year, who then become part of its war-time reserve of 280,000 soldiers of whom some 10,000 a year are called up rotationally to refresher courses.
Some 870,000 Finns aged between 17 and 60 are liable for service in case of need. The contract staff consist of 12,000 people, 8,000 of them military personnel.”

This is an excellent read about their Ground, Air, and Naval forces and state of readiness and armament.
