Not totally alone. Just me and hubby, watching old TV shows/movies and enjoying the peace and quiet.
If anyone has the time and ability to find them, FR has had the “Christmas Eve alone” threads each year for as long as I can remember. It would be interesting, and a bit sad, to review those threads and see who isn’t with us any longer. Over the thirty or so years it would also be interesting to see how Freeper’s political positions and GOP support has changed over the past decades.
COVID. So, it’s just us
This is the first Christmas in my adult life without my husband who passed in June. Not so easy but at least I’m with family...and 3 dogs.
Zoomed with the kids and grandkids today. And will again tomorrow for a bit. Otherwise, it is my wife and me.

The rest have turned into stupid all you can eat, drink, buy, party and act like a fool. Hell, even Independence Day has become BBQ day. No one of substance still recognizes the original meaning of Holidays.
I don't even recognize nor celebrate Christmas anymore. The worse is New Years Eve craziness. Why is that even a Holiday? Just to get drunk and act like an ass? It's another friggin day. What is there to celebrate? NO ONE knows how the coming year will turn out. It could mean fortune for some and homeless for others. Just don't forget to wear your stupid paper hat.
And most of all, get rid of my yearly frigging Birthday. What the hell did I have to do with that?
Just me and my two kitties tonight. I spent the day, however, cooking things to bring to a family gathering tomorrow and wrapping a few gifts for the kiddos so I’m pretty tired.
