There are many, myself included, who would have viewed DeSantis as our preferred early candidate for 2028…had he not got in bed with the perfidy Republican Party and their money men this time and just got behind Trump and backed him. Any other candidate would have had a much higher bar to clear, DeSantis would have been the default for the MAGA supporters.

But not only was he greedy, he was exceptionally stupid and destroyed his standing with MAGA…he listened to the political professionals…the “advisors”…who are both monumentally corrupt and monumentally stupid people. Now, it will be for me, and I’d suppose others like me, a very high bar, impossibly high practically, for me to even support in a lukewarm manner, someone who has gone for the dirty political money and acted so stupidly. In 2028, I’ll now be looking for practically anything (but NOT Nikki Haley ever) except DeSantis. He has almost irredeemably damaged himself with me…such a shame and so unnecessary.

Ron (I think he’s done a good job as Gov.) is the perfect example of the first rule of national politics: Trust no one. It’s bad enough at the state level, but when you run for national office, especially Pres, everyone has their own agenda. If it aligns with the candidate’s the campaign can run pretty smoothly, but when you have lots of conflicts internally it’s a pretty big hill to climb. Ron evidently did what he thought he should do, but took advice and instructions from establishment people who had their own agenda. When their advice turned out to be crap and he struggled, they threw him overboard and bought Haley. I hope Ron is much smarter going forward. He should go ahead and endorse Trump, go home, lick his wound, and plan for his future.

You, Sir, have hit the nail directly on the head.
