“Without reason”? Failure to pay rent is a reason - the main reason people get evicted…
Message to landlords — “You will own nothing. And you will be happy.”
“a stable home is out of reach for people evicted by landlords without reason”
“A recent point-in-time (PIT) Count conducted by the Metro Denver Homeless Initiative found the top self-reported cause of homelessness in Denver is an inability to pay rent.”
Ding ding ding
I think we found the reason
You may “deserve” it, but you still need to earn it and pay for it…..anything else is welfare
I think each employee of the ‘Colorado Politics” website should convert one room of their house or apartment into a separate rental unit.
Rent that unit out. But no background checks, please! That would be unfair and unjust. Then good luck trying to evict destructive people, drug users, noisy drunks, etc.
Notice they didn’t say “We will pay your rent” which means rentals will plummet, leaving people homeless. We already have people crying here because they can’t find a rental they can afford because so many people just quit paying rent.
“Without reason” — sure, evil Snidely Whiplash landlords are in the habit of tossing good, paying people out of their apartment te for no reason at all.
What a load of hornswoggle.
Do the liberals truly want all landlords to sell their properties and have NO rental units available at all? Because that is the logical next step for landlords. Hundreds of thousands of empty apartments owned by the banks because nobody will buy them, squatters moving in and destroying them.
It is so easy to forecast what will happen.
The culture of Colorado has changed. Recently I watched as young people with back packs, loaded up what they needed for the day and walked out the front door and never paid. When I asked to use the restroom, they said it was closed. (Too many homeless people coming in to take their morning dump). The people who designed living standards in Colorado, are the same ones that designed San Francisco. Get USED to it. Live with it.
What a pant load this article is. No landlord anywhere can evict a tenant for no reason. Neither does any landlord want to fail to renew a lease at the end of its term if the tenant has been a good tenant. Between lost rents, repairs and commissions it costs landlords thousands of dollars to get a new tenant.
“We all deserve a place where we can hug our loved ones, cook, bathe, make memories, tuck our children into bed at night, and live without fear — a home.”
The first statement is a lie.
L
I own (and FRequently wear) a t-shirt with a Ronald Reagan quote on it:
“The best social program is a job!”
Speaking as a landlord, I don’t think landlords routinely evict people without cause. Complete BS.

claims what ?.
After the Covid eviction moratorium, I’m amazed that land lords are even still in business. At any moment, government can confiscate their property on a whim. Prediction: housing shortage ahead.
The solution to homelessness is to create more homelessness, like the solution to affordable housing shortage is to punish landlords who provide low cost housing. Leftist logic is contrarian and anti-reason, and they’re totally immune to facts. Ultimately they have to rely on force, and when that fails, they can compel acceptance of what is clearly a lie; 2 + 2 = 5. The whole system makes sense in a twisted, perverse way. And it is supremely evil.
No paying rent is no longer cause to evict?!
No, we don't. You deserve what you work and/or pay for. Nothing more, nothing less.
I manage a property.
First and foremost, there is no evicting without reason. Strike one.
Second, all property owners that rent have to absolutely follow the rules in the federal Fair Housing Act. No discussion. You follow or get fined big time. Strike two.
Third, if you sign a lease, it's a binding contract. Before you sign that lease, you should be reading the fine print. Maybe strike three for these authors.
Where I work (for the last 2 and a half years), we've only evicted two tenants who were behind on their rent. And I'm talking 3 months or more.
People like Mejía and Medrano should go buy property and see how it works. But that's asking too much of a leftist.
Literally every sentence contains a lie, illogical statement and or illusion.
