That is the scary part, the Supreme Court of Colorado knows it will be overruled because the US Supreme Court already ruled over the issue of the President not being an officer.

So this means they did it purely out of political motives and to hurt Trump.

Incredible! This might as well be a larger version of Venezuela. I just can’t believe it.

Trump is DISQUALIFIED from running for president by Colorado Supreme Court and axed from the state’s ballot for ‘stoking insurrection’ - his lawyers slam the decision and vow ‘swift appeal’

The Colorado Supreme Court ruled that former President Donald Trump is ‘disqualified’ from serving as president under the 14th Amendment
Section 3 of the 14th Amendment bars officials from seeking future office should they have ‘engaged in insurrection’

The decision may not stick - Trump plans to appeal it to the Supreme Court and the Republican National Committee also has plans to sue

How often does a SCOTUS majority rule in favor of The Constitution these days?

I’ve lived in Denver (suburbs) since 1978. It was a wonderful place back then, with the exception of more traditional “machine” democrats running Denver, and the alternate universe of Boulder.

I used to go out to Denver for a big chunk of my summer vacation and meet up with hiking buddies for many years. They used to joke, "We gotta get you out here so we know what animals we have!" (I majored in zoology). We would go to Rocky Mt. National Park repeatedly, I drove up Mt. Evans (wooooo) with them, hiked in the Roosevelt Forest, visted Colorado Springs, Castle Rock State Park, Garden of the Gods, Raton Pass, Pawnee Buttes, etc. I delightedly watched animals I'd only seen in books, birds I'd only heard of, scenery to die for. But then Denver changed, as you said. It got druggier and weirder (don't even talk about Boulder!) and lost the clean aura it used to have. So I'm not surprised to see their libtard Supreme Court pull this garbage of forbidding Trump to be on the ballot. He doesn't need the druggies anyway to win.

I think it was the first state to legalize pot and a multitude of pot users flocked there in a very short period of time ...

As I was driving to Mt. Evans with friends, they pointed out a small dismal-looking community set back off the highway. It was, they said, basically a colony of stoners. I couldn't even wrap my mind around such a thing.

I lived in Colorado as it morphed from conservative to a liberal/commie bastard state. Thanks to the fact that the Californians could sell their home for $450,000 and then buy a home twice the size and quality, in CO, for $300,000 the Californication of CO was sure to happen.

Supreme Court, DO YOUR JOB! This action. by that half-assed court, will be overturned.
It shouts, out loud, “UNCONSTITUTIONAL!”
Sincerely,,
Happy Gator,
Bat Guano

They made no legal finding that there was an insurrection nor that there ever was an insurrection. There is no court finding anywhere in this country that Trump participated in an insurrection.

This should go down 9-0 at the Supreme Court.

I agree. The Trump voters will not vote for a rino bushite.

That said, I can’t see how this won’t be thrown out by Scotus. Trump hasn’t been convicted of insurrection, an actual crime in the US Code.

Moreover, it’s one thing to say that colorado is permitted to not print Trump’s name on a ballot, but it’s another thing entirely to declare that he cannot be a write-in. That strikes me as an outright denial of the right to vote.
