RED ROCK, Okla. (Gray News) – A 24-year-old hunter died in a hunting accident on Sunday morning in Oklahoma, according to officials.
Oklahoma Game Wardens said the man drowned in Sooner Lake, about 80 miles west of Tulsa, while he was duck hunting.
Game wardens said that the man went in the water to retrieve a duck when he hit a drop off. Water overcame his waders, and he did not resurface.
Using imaging technology, officials found his body on the lake floor.

He needed a dog. Stepping into a hole in waders is a nightmare scenario.
So it wasn’t a gun violence excuse for the Dems to ban hunting and confiscate firearms.

He was from OSU and went to Sooner lake what did he think would happen?
He should have had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever with him. They’re strong powerful dogs with a waterproof oily coat. I’ve hunted with them for years. They’re great to duck and goose hunt with. One year many years ago a guy fell out of his boat trying to tie it up at the dock. He had hip waders on and slipped off the pier going straight to the bottom. He was found the next day.
I helped drag an 80 yo trapper out of a creek where he died struggling when his waders filled up

Wear your wading belt, people. It can buy you a lot of critical time…
Duck hunting about killed me a couple of times.
Not a duck hunter for many reasons. It’s a hard-core thing. I’d rather do less dangerous game like elk and mue deer ;^)
Mule deer.
And moose.
Might get stomped to death, but I won’t drown.
That happens more often than you would think.
