I think it is beyond soccer mom mentality. I perceive it more as a female perspective - the argument has been shaped it is solely the female response to these challenges that matter. Women have had this pushed in their face for decades; not being a woman, I can not determine the force of that push has on a population. I assume it is the same as the instruction of a minority class and the rights they are deserved in a democracy - any opposition to this teaching you are the oppressor.
