Brazil's military is reinforcing its northern border due to rising tensions between its neighbors Venezuela and Guyana over Venezuela's claim to the Esequibo region, the Ministry of Defense said on Tuesday.

The Brazilian army is moving armored vehicles and more troops to Boa Vista, the capital of Roraima state that borders both Venezuela and Guyana after Venezuelans voted in a referendum on Sunday to approve the annexation of the Esequibo.

Another continent, another war under Biden.

May as well start one in North America so it might be a good time to invade Canada.

I always thought we should take the land up through the St. Lawrence as well as that pesky strip separating Alaska from Washington.

Three’s the charm!

We’ve got about 5 million Venezuelan illegals in the USA thanks to Biden

We’ll only need about 1/10th of them to fight for Guyana.

its a win-win.

You’ve got to feel sorry for American leftists here. Venezuela is a perfect socialist paradise. On the other hand, most of Guyana’s population is either black or Indian. There are very few evil whites of European descent.

So who should the lefties root for? The perfect socialists or the oppressed people of color?

Maduro is a madman, but the timing of this land grab and his crackdown on political opposition is pretty savvy. Making his move was made possible with his newfound leverage over Biden and the confused policies of this administration.

U.S. Southern Command announced the beginning of Air Exercises in Guyana’s Airspace today in conjunction with the Guyana Defense Force in order to Strengthen Regional Cooperation; this Exercise comes following Venezuela’s claim to Annex over 70% of Guyana Territory and the Mysterious Crash of a Bell 412 Transport Helicopter with the Guyana Air Force yesterday in the “Disputed” Region.

The Venezuelan Government has reportedly given ExxonMobil and several other Oil Companies, who were given Permission by Guyana to launch Expeditions off the Coast of the Country to find Oil Deposits, less than 90 Days to Vacate their Operations in Guyana’s Territorial Waters.

I lived in Venezuela in the 70s pre Chaves. It was great, it was corrupt but no less corrupt than the USA today. It had the highest standard of living in South America and today is poverty and despair.

AINT COMMUNISM GREAT!

When the cat’s away, the mice will play. You’ll notice that Maduro wasn’t trying to do this sort of thing when Bolsonaro was still the president of Brazil.

Brazil is mobilizing for war against Venezuela. This is not just them securing their borders.

Brazil is a much larger, much richer country but it is ill equipped for a fight. The Brazilian air force is tiny compared to the modern, well-equipped Venezuelan air force and its army is relatively weak as well - and lacks the capacity to project power in this region at all (there are few roads and there is no rail infrastructure). If the Venezuelans decide to invade Guyana, the United States is the only force that can stop them. Of course Guyana is an ally of the Chinese so maybe the Chinese will beat us to it.
