Drink | Caff./fl. oz. | Sugg. serv. | Caffeine per serv. |
---|---|---|---|
(small) Red Bull | 9.5 mg | 8.4 oz. | 80 mg. |
Diet Coke | 3.8 mg | 12 oz. | 46 mg. |
Regular Coke | 2.8 mg | 12 oz. | 34 mg. |
McDonald's Medium Coffee | 9.1 mg | 16 oz. | 145 mg. |
Panera Charged Lemonade | 7.9 mg | 20 oz. | 157 mg. |
OK, so while 7X caffeine compared to Red Bull sounds excessive, this Panera drink ranks about the same as a large (20+ oz.) McDonald's coffee!
(One thing to remember about Red Bull: it's effect doesn't just come from caffeine, it has Taurine (an amino acid) and B-group vitamins. I'm cautious about how those intermingle.)
I think I’ll just stick to Green Tea.
The important thing I see there is that their “charged lemonade” has a lower caffeine concentration than coffee.
The rest of the week I do a 34oz mug of Folgers.
It isn't the caffeine... It's what else you have wrong with you that might cause you to kick it.
Kid in the lead story sounded like someone with some developmental disorders as well as a heart condition. If he was that stupid, literally speaking and no insult intended, he probably should have had a chaperone.
Sad he died, but why is that Panera's fault?
