Theory and practice are two very different things.
IIRC, something like this was tried in the 1860’s.
It really didn’t work out well for anyone involved.
If the 1860’s happened now, the Federal Government could do nothing. Imagine the outrage at the destruction live streamed around the world, let alone the country. The US govt is a paper tiger. The situation has much in common with Rome just before it was overrun by Vandals...or Immigrants..same thing.
