“The Sunday Morning Bray”, by Bray!
The Beavs Lost More than Civil War
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. Colossians 3:16 (King James Version)
Was Oregon State being left without a league or a coach caused by the Coup-19 shutdowns? Did the mandatory shutdowns which emptied the stadiums put colleges without big donors in a jam they could not dig themselves out of. Also, did politics cause schools to slit their own throats from irrational fear?
As a lifelong Duck who grew up in Eugene, I followed the dissolving of the Pac 12 very closely as most fans are interested in where their school would end up after USC and UCLA left the Pac for more money and a more competitive league in the Big 10. It made no sense these lifelong members of the Pac would join a league in the East and play in snow for a few dollars more.
This is all about viewership of TVs to sell commercials in large markets like Los Angeles. It was common knowledge UCLA was having financial problems which was made worse by shutting down the sporting events for two years. Not many show up for the Rose Bowl or Mausoleum but the closing of the stadiums stopped anyone from attending or sales of season tickets. It was rumored UCLA’s athletic department was around fifty million underwater forcing their hand to go to a more lucrative league.
Now the PAC was in an even more desperate situation since their two most populous schools were gone, taking a large percentage of the West Coast audience. They really did not have much to sell and the only two options were an offer by the Big 12 conference and a crazy streaming service people would hopefully buy subscriptions to pay the schools.
The league Presidents voted to not join the Big 12 which would have been an exciting league as schools from Texas and the Southwest would compete against the West. This would have been a fun league which would be a high scoring brand of football since the winters would be either on the coast or down in the Texas area.
This was during the Cold-19 shutdowns which the zombies were brainwashed into believing if you did not wear a mask and get a shot you were committing a crime against humanity. Most of these schools were pushing the idea that if you did not get a shot, you should not be allowed in a hospital let alone have a life saving surgery.
Most of the schools in the Big 12 did not require masks or shots in the stadiums, which was heresy to most of the Pac 12 schools. When the University presidents voted against the admission into the Big 12 was it voting against the ignoring the virus protocols and them believing they were protecting their students? Add to this the massive political difference and there is a real possibility this was a political decision and not a monetary call.
Not sure which schools did and didn’t vote is not known although two schools WSU and Stanford voted against it. Washington State happens to be the school who fired their coach for not taking the jab and will likely have to pay him around ten million for firing him. This in a year they are not allowing fans in their games. All of this nonsense to get rid of Trump.
After the universities turned down the Big 12 their only option was a half-baked idea of selling streaming services to the fans which would generate marginal money to the more attractive schools like Oregon and Washington with nearly nothing going to the other schools and everything fell apart.
Oregon State has an Indian woman as their President who is an obvious Affirmative Action hire although she is has a doctor in engineering but has no knowledge in sports. You can bet she is a good little Democrat who did not want to join a league of rubes who do not celebrate masks and jabs. She should be fired for leaving her teams out to dry and now nobody knows exactly what next year or the year after will bring. Communist organizations like OSU have no concept of marketing or revenues vs expenses since they only think in terms of money from Salem.
Now reality has slapped their utopian world in the face. They have lost the Civil War, their coach, and their league in a single weekend. The truth is a bunch of Communist Party members who had a small amount of power but used that power to destroy two very good athletic departments who were the fallout of some massively brainwashed zombie incompetence.
As great as it is to be a Duck right now on your way to the last Pacific 12 Championship and then on to the Big 10, it is equally bad to be a Beav. You have lost everything you have built over the last hundred years so some bureaucrat could virtue grandstand to all her friends. That Starbucks coffee may taste a little bitter this week.
Pray for Revival in Oregon

Morning all...
Thanks for thread A.B. Well the Tide should be in the final 4 but instead “they” want Texas (! Where they been all season?)
1. So RINO/Demlite Jimmy the weasel Comer - who voted to EXPEL a house R. not convicted of any crime to date AND Chose NOT to expel the D. who puller the Fire alarm
2. TWO RINO R Governors
3. And to appease the viewership FOX/Maria must show at least someone with valid America First credentials
And there you have it - FOX just another crap organization who may no longer advertise on "X"
Oregon State and Washington State are just in the ACC for now . The Big 12 will be the winner, soon. College Sports is becoming the minor football league for the NFL. Just like University of Chicago, I think you'll see some schools drop their athletic teams.
Having said that, I would be interested to know who the various Greek graduates from the various Greek city states, during the time of Plato, supported with their $$$ and stadium attendance.
No way Alabama is excluded from the Final Four. The big loser will be Florida State. Alabama, Michigan, Washington, and Texas will be in the playoffs.
Really sorry, but haven’t watched a single sporting event since Kaepernick took a knee. I know. Shouldn’t be that way, but I just don’t see much difference in the players be them college or pros.
Sad to see the demise of the PAC 12, the league of champions. In terms of all NCAA sports, men and women, the PAC 12 has been dominant for a long time. The SEC has been rising, especially in the main sports. It all boils down to money.
And CBS Sunday Morning is featuring Liz Cheney, major hurl or laugh warning.
I believe you’re correct. The Committee is meeting in Texas. Grapevine Texas (in Dallas-Ft Worth metro).
Whomever said, or believes, that we “live in a country of laws, not of men” is delusional (or kidding).
When I scan the roster of the committee I see the usual good ole boys with one woman. The die is cast. (and Ohio State is forgotten)

That win was so long ago, it's in the old Testament...Texas parted the red tide."
and formerly #1 Ohio State lost to Current #1 Michigan a week ago 30-24!
Hello everyone! I’ve been outside working. It is quite warm today here. 65 degrees—perfect outdoor working weather!
Alabama is amazing when it comes to plant life. I should get an award for my carbon sequestering because I’m almost overrun. Today I am cutting down trees, kudzu vines, and a host of invasive species including the forementioned kudzu, and also Chinese privet, Japanese honeysuckle, Autumn olive, Bradford pear and mimosa. Also getting scratched up by briars of all kinds—native and foreign.
I’m going to have a huge bonfire this week for sure!
RodGuy is out catching mackerels today so won’t be with us.
Also, Roll Tide, but I don’t care if we make the playoffs... We’ll be back!
I love the 4 southern teams...to hell with Michigan and Washington
We are up here because all the grandchildren are within a mile of our house. That way wifey gets to be full-time grandma and our too small for more than two people is full of grandchildren all the time, almost every day. Guess who decided we needed to move here so we could be close to the kids.
Possible the BEST way to spend your golden years. And here I sit brokenhearted, no grandchildren in sight
