This illustrates Trump’s problem, he does not believe in Federalism, and hubris prevents him from understanding that D.C. needs to be dismantled instead of fixed.
At the end of the day, Trump is a classic Rockefeller Republican. He talks a good fight sometimes but when its time to actually govern he’s more George Pataki or Al D’Amato than Ronald Reagan or Calvin Coolidge.
It’s a head fake.
IIRC, Pres Trump wanted to pretty much dismantle the VA in its current form and give disabled vets, basically, an insurance card where they could get the best medical care available to them, without having to go to a VA hospital. Thus eliminating VA hospitals.
Is that not a step in dismantling the federal government.
