Indeed, but there will be some on FR who will say it is wasting U.S tax payer money on someone else’s problem. Well hello! Piracy on the high seas is costly to the consumer. Nip it in the bud

Yes, Islam was the main enemy of our country even before it was founded.

Terrorists from the depths of hell, we fought them off back then IIRC the history.

The US Marines were there with the US Navy to fight and kill the sword bearing Muslim pirates. Hence the nickname for the US Marines - “Leaternecks” ... for the leather band they wore around their necks to guard against sword strikes.

“From the halls of Montezuma... to the shores of Tripoli...”

After the war with the Barbary pirates in 1805 the Colors were inscribed with the words “To the Shores of Tripoli.” After Marines participated in the capture of Mexico City and the Castle of Chapultepec (also known as the Halls of Montezuma) in 1847, the words on the Colors were changed to read “From the shores of Tripoli to the Halls of Montezuma.” The unknown author of the first verse of the hymn reversed this order to read “From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli.”

Side note: The US may need to yet invade Mexico again, to secure the Mexican ports, where their authorities give a blind eye to the fentanyl precursors coming in from Chyna.
