Electric heat-pumps are ridiculously inefficient! Im in an apartment. I heat with space heaters and its almost half the cost. A heat pump will not kick out 130°F-140°F air temp like normal gas heat and maxes out at 92°F. It so aggravating because it runs constantly 24/7 in the winter.

We have literally hundreds of years of cheap gas reserves and these idiots want to put more strain on the aging power grid?

The closer you get to fire to cook, heat, shave etc the better it is for the environment.

One of my BILs is a TOTAL ‘greenie.’ His home is incredibly energy efficient with in-floor radiant heat and some sort of furnace that runs on water for heating, etc. No solar, though - he lives in a heavily forested area. No wind power, either.
Of course, he PAYS FOR THIS HIMSELF and doesn’t force the rest of us into it, so there’s that. He might get some energy rebates from the state, but he’s putting in the time and effort so, so be it.
We got an energy rebate when we installed our metal roofing. By ourselves. Over the course of eight years. ;)
