Chernobyl pushed the Soviet Union off the cliff. It had been teetering there for half a decade.

That is a big list of getting it wrong to me.

Check all my old posts. I haven't gotten a single thing wrong about this war so far.

Your take is based on fundamental flaw.
Russia wasn’t defeated in the Cold War but was convinced that the command economy is disadvantageous in terms of meeting the requirements of provision of the high living standards to its population and better results could be achieved through integration into Western institutions. Dissolving the Warsaw Pact and demilitarization was seen as a way of rapproachment.
The following events proved that they were naive as it was used by the West against Russia.

It is the primary reason why this trick is not going to work again.

Your take on the effects of the Ukrainian war on Russia is way off. It has reinforced the conviction of the Russian population that the West is the enemy.

The rest is history.

The other thing the sanctions have done is to implement cutoffs from various dependencies on the West that Putin wanted to do but thought would be too unpopular.

One thing they seem to overlook is that apart from the aircraft sector, Russian industry is currently at the Soviet level of arms production and vastly ahead of the entirety of NATO. And the way the economy works it doesn’t eat into the civilian sector as much as the Soviet MIC did.

I’m glad someone else is pointing this out. USA has the delusion we are the advanced culture against primitive weapons, while in reality it is now rhe opposite.

I heard speculation that Russia is holding off their best weapons so we don’t know their capabilities.

NATO belongs to the scrap heap of history along. Garbage organization that weakens by the day. USA is fortunate Ukraine bears brunt of the inferiority of NATO.

USA went chasing out of Afghanistan in the most embarrassing act ever. Yes, Taliban cavemen scared away mighty USA.

In fact all the weapons are on full display, unless you rely on CNN “Ukraine is winning” propaganda.

In the latest Ukraine’s fit where they managed to damage a ship in the shipyard in Crimea they launched 15 stealth Storm Shadow missiles of those 13 shot down by Russian defenses.
A sort of cold shower for the F-35 fanboys, given the fact that a manned fighter can’t afford the same defensive profile as a terrain-hugging stealth cruise missile.
The Ukrainians burned pianos for three crews who launched those long range standalone missiles.
The Russians are taking them out from 300 miles away and they don’t even know what hits them.

I’m sure in his wildest dreams, Putin never imagined NATO would pass away a quarter Trillion Dollars and 300,000 Ukrainian lives to fight for the government of pedophiles.

NATO went head on against Russia and got its ass handed to them.

Really, the enemies of USA don’t need to fire a shot to defeat us.

Saudi Arabia and China just need to stop shipping to us and it’s game over.

after 21 months, Russia still hasn’t advance more than 100 miles from their borders

the front hasn’t moved since August 2022, when HIMARS arrived

Russia has had over 100,000 troops killed, and lost Euro energy markets permanently

FAIL!

I foresee that the Neocons’ intransigence will lead to Russia taking the entire Donbas AND Black Sea coast including Odessa. They have been given no reason not to push for these maximalist demands. They know the Ukes won’t be able to stop them.

Nobody cares about this stupid propaganda anymore.
Your focus on wonder weapons and territorial issues expose you like an idiot is class of Hitler, who in the end lost the war.
The “loss” of the European market is perfectly fine for Russia is the long run.
How do you explain that the Russian energy business is doing great, and the European energy intensive industries are falling apart?
Whatever makes Euros weak is good for Russia right now.
