Son of Hamas founder torches terror group’s ‘7th Century mentality’, says ‘Israel represents order, democracy’

Unbeknownst to many, the eldest son of Hamas co-founder Hassan Yousef is no fan of the ruthless, savage terrorist group.

Speaking on Fox News’s “Hannity” this week, Mosab Hassan Yousef said that, despite assertions from the left, Hamas is no political party but rather a religious movement waging a holy war.

“If Hamas was a political party, then we [could] apply pressure on them, bring them to the negotiating table where they can compromise. But Hamas is a religious organization. Nobody can satisfy their religious ambition because it’s a condition in their charter,” he told network host Sean Hannity.

While Yousef was originally scheduled to one day take over Hamas from his father, spending time in an Israeli prison reportedly inspired him to go another route. Indeed, after the prison stint, he became an informant for Shin Bet, which the Post describes as “the Israeli equivalent of the CIA.”

He also converted to Christianity and sought asylum in the United States, where he now lives.

During his discussion with Hannity, he was asked why Hamas so zealously hates both Israel and the Jewish people. Yousef replied by arguing that Hamas is driven by religion and politics.

“We’re talking about Hamas, [which has] a 7th Century mentality, where[as] Israel is very advanced [into the] 21st century. So the gap is very huge. Hamas represents chaos. This is where they thrive. Israel represents order, democracy. Hence, those are the two opposite extremes that have been clashing,” he said.

He continued by excoriating all the know-nothing pro-Palestinian protesters in the U.S. who’ve been making a fuss over Israel defending itself.

“They don’t know what Palestine is. And what I say, you know, today as an American, I invite all these people to educate themselves first. And we cannot lose sight because Hamas started this war. What we need to do [is] we need to remove Hamas from power,” he said.

He added that he himself is on Hamas’ target list and that they wouldn’t “hesitate” to murder him if they could, despite his familial connection to the group’s founders.

Continuing his remarks, Yousef said that to win this war, Israel and its allies must make it clear to Hamas and its allies (e.g., Hezbollah) that “we will stand united and we will fight them together instead of being divided like this.”

He previously said in another interview that if Israel gives in to the world’s request for a ceasefire, it will lose its battle against Hamas.

At one point during his Fox News interview, Yousef was questioned about Hamas’ version of Islam and whether it coincides with ISIS’ mission. He responded by saying Hamas draws some of its mission from Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna.

“Then there is tribalism, which is 7th-century mentality, where a tribe used to fight a tribe for 100 years until they get annihilated, or they annihilate the tribe… It’s the Arabian mentality that they view Israel as a tribe. They want to keep trying until they annihilate Israel or get annihilated in the process,” he replied.

During a previous interview with British talk show host Piers Morgan, Yousef said he wasn’t remotely surprised by the barbarity that Hamas had demonstrated during its Oct. 7th terror attack on Israel.

“Wiping out entire communities, messing with a nuclear power, the most powerful country in the region, a country with a great trauma from the past, with a memory of a Holocaust, and all the Nazis did in the past century. They opened the gates of hell on the Palestinian people,” he said.

Yousef also served up a stark reminder for all of Hamas’ tacit supporters.

“Since its establishment, Hamas has one goal in mind, which is annihilating the State of Israel,” said Yousef.

“It’s not a secret that Hamas wants to destroy the State of Israel. They cannot accept Israel or accept Israel’s right to exist,” he said, as reported by The Times of Israel.

Mosab Hassan Yousef is an impressive guy. He’s the son of the Hamas Founder. Imagine that.

They cannot accept Israel or accept Israel’s right to exist

To Hamas the only thing that has a right to exist is Sunni Islam. That's true of all Islam. The Shia would be destroyed as well. If the Shia don't destroy them first.
Once the non-Muslim infidels are dealt with they'll be at each others throats. Any cooperation now is just a get by strategy.

I would be surprised if there wasn’t. His conversion to Christianity makes him an apostate in Islam and that usually carries a death penalty in and of itself. I don’t know what determines a fatwah or if being the son of a Hamas founder gets you off the hook or not.

He also converted to Christianity and sought asylum in the United States, where he now lives.

That explains a lot.

And it sounds like a genuine conversion experience.

He's not off the hook. Fatwahs are issued when there's no clear-cut decision on a point of Islamic law. You got it perfectly right: conversion from Islam has already been decided as being an act against Islam itself and we know how that goes, so no need for a fatwah.

Now that you got me thinking, a bunch of Islamic scholars got together and issued a fatwah calling for all Islamic countries to support Hamas' in its "military campaign" against Israel. That was on Halloween. Never thought about that timing until now.
