Illegal Chinese marijuana grows have taken over much of rural Maine.
The government is either incapable — or unwilling — to do anything about it.
The Maine Wire has identified more than 100 properties that are part of a sprawling network of Chinese-owned sites operating as unlicensed, illicit cannabis growing operations in rural Maine.
According to an unclassified memo from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) obtained by the Maine Wire, the illicit grows are operated by Asian Transnational Criminal Organizations (TCOs).
The properties cover Somerset County, Penobscot County, Kennebec County, Franklin County, Androscoggin County, and Oxford County.
The sites were purchased over the past three years by single adults, primarily from New York and Massachusetts, using cash or financing arranged through a handful of mortgage companies.
The Maine Wire investigation began following the leak of a separate DHS memo that revealed the existence of more than 270 such sites in Maine.
That memo, first reported by Jennie Taer of the Daily Caller News Foundation, offered the first public confirmation of what law enforcement officials have long known, but what neighbors to these properties and legal marijuana entrepreneurs have only suspected.
Namely, that Chinese foreign nationals are exploiting Maine’s lax marijuana laws, the Biden Administration’s immigration policies, and cheap real estate in rural Maine to grow a fortune using exploited illegal alien laborers.

Could we get anymore pathetic than this snd Ohio enshrining the murder of its own babies?
We deserve, have earned, every misery coming to us.
Heading to Ohio soon.
The chicoms put the coke in the White House. Makes perfect sense.
The feds don’t have time to do anything about this.
They are fully occupied manufacturing evidence against and persecuting Trump and MAGA people.
It’s incredibly hard to hide the smell of a grow. Bad weed and great weed both have a huge odor. I grew a mid-grade this year and you had to be close to it to smell it.
I’m making CBD oil from some hemp this weekend and it really stinks up the house.
The only time I ever grew it was during the summer as a 15 year old teenager in WNY.
I planted a few plants on my neighbors adjacent property. If you can picture a 5’ clearing in the middle of a couple acres of maple saplings. The other was a 4’ clearing in a small field.
They never got more than about 3-4’ tall and just started to bud out. Then I pulled them out of the ground(roots and all) and hung them upside down in a hefty trash bag in the upstairs of the barn.
It was some nasty stuff to smoke. A little harsh as Bill Murray would say.
Several friends of mine have sons who are potheads. These young 20-something year olds are criminals - on is a 7 time convicted felon at age 23- and do nothing but work hard enough to make money for buying marijuana, stealing or figuring out how to sell that and other drugs.
They have all been in car accidents- almost all resulting in property damage, injuries or running from the police and have been frequent visitors to court. All have mental problems.
And please don’t defend use to me - I don’t care what you or any other adult does but these kids are ruined permanently and have no future.
The first plants we grew were pretty bad but I just wanted to convert them to oil. I wasn’t going to use it to get high. This summer’s crop was a strain a cousin obtained from Denmark. He didn’t eliminate the males so we have a bucket of seeds. It auto-flowered and we had to harvest early. It’s in a box in the corner of the basement. A friend tried it and approved. She wanted to know how to grow it (ph, light, water). I told her to stick the seeds in dirt and then stick the seedlings in the ground.
According to broadcasting Conservative Chris Plante, the odor of smoked Marijuana is in the air everywhere in Washington, DC. (WMAL-FM on iHeart.com)...
Fortunately, where I live, I don’t have this problem of second-hand Marijuana smoke. Are we slowly learning of other dangers besides spontaneous abortion and cognitive and psychic brain damage from this much stronger “roadside weed”?
Lots of field hands to “mine” the crop.
Maine is New England’s largest (and empty + poorest) state. The seacoast is where there’s actually a crush of “Mainers”.
Yes, born and raised in New England, left when I was 28. My mother was born in a poor paper mill town in Northern Maine.
