You are correct.
The big urban centers outweigh the rural areas in every state. And Democrats control the urban votes.
And yet in the county map— Harlan County which is a “moist” county (Dry in the county with a Wet largest city of Cumberland, some 2k people)— went 66% for Cameron. Harlan being the site of the Harlan County War in the coal mines, miners and miners unions vs. owners. Harlan County went 85% for Trump in 2020.
Perry County, KY went 55% for Beshears, 44 % Cameron in vote numbers 600 fewer for Cameron. A county that went 76% for Trump in 2020.
As the song goes “It’s a long way to Harlan, a long way to Hazard... just to get a little brew”... Roll on Buddy.
