Democrats win in several states on abortion rights and other highlights from Tuesday’s elections

Democrats had plenty of good news to celebrate in Tuesday’s off-year elections and more evidence that they can win races centered on the national debate over abortion.

Abortion rights supporters won an Ohio ballot measure and the Democratic governor of beet-red Kentucky held onto his office by campaigning on reproductive rights and painting his opponent as extremist. A Democrat won an open seat on the Pennsylvania Supreme Court after campaigning on his pledge to uphold abortion rights. And Democrats took full control of the Virginia statehouse, blocking Republicans from being able to pass new abortion restrictions ***

*** Democrats notched two early wins Tuesday night in Kentucky and Ohio, states that voted for Trump in 2020. In both states, abortion was the main campaign issue.

Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear was reelected in a state that Trump had won by 26 percentage points. Beshear had criticized the abortion views of his Republican challenger, Attorney General Daniel Cameron, in debates and television ads.

*** In Ohio, a ballot measure preserving abortion rights passed in a state that Trump won by eight percentage points in 2020. Republicans had already tried to derail the measure by calling an unusual August referendum to make it harder to pass ballot measures, an initiative that was roundly rejected by Ohio voters.

Later Tuesday, Dan McCaffery won an open seat on Pennsylvania’s Supreme Court after positioning himself as a defender of abortion rights. And in Virginia, Democrats held the state Senate and flipped control of the Virginia House of Delegates from the GOP.

The outcomes suggest a transformed political landscape since a conservative majority of the U.S. Supreme Court overturned a federal right to an abortion last year.

Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Kansas in 2022. The Democrats will continue to use the abortion issue in their pursuit to hold the White House and Senate and to retake control of the House in 2024.

As long as there are “swinging somethings” anf “enough buttrflies spreading their wings”, hedonism will run rampant.

The general public has zero fear of God. They worship a false god of themselves, self pleasure, only hearing words that tickle their ears. The next prophet God sends will be 2 of them to Jerusalem. and they will be killed in the street. By then it will be too late.. Get To know who Jesus was and his true message before its too late.

Does the GOP ever campaign on what Democrats actually do (skyrocketing prices, rampant shoplifting, feces in the streets, devastated urban cores, shuttering of businesses, etc.)?

Killing babies is the most important issue to those on the left vice self responsibility and the direction the country is going.

That sums up how pathetically stupid society has become.

Well now, didnt the southern states vote against supreme court rulings at one time? The federal government and the president sent federal troops in the enforce the "law of the land" vs." states rights".

Where to we go from here? Prison and more killings wont bring back the dead babies ,I vote we let those states keep killing babies for their own pleasure. God will repay.

OTOH those babies never had a chance of growing up with a decent life with indecent parents like that, plus, future BLM member rolls will suffer the most.

Never stop your enemy from doing things that destroy themselves - the art of war.

The GOP is still a soft Pro Life party and must push for a unified national law protecting Life.

Until then, there is little distinction between the parties on the question of abortion.

I look at the election as the dimwits won where they are suppose to win, Kentucky voted for a dimwit who was popular down ballot the Goppers won most all offices, as far as abortion goes this is the way it should have been all alone, the people decide, abortion is a personal decision and only the person getting that abortion will stand before God and answer for it, on the other hand as a Christian I cannot vote in favor of abortion because I also will be held accountable, of course we all will be held accountable for a lot of stuff but sin is sin but the Grace of the Lord Jesus and his sacrifice on the cross I have someone to answer for me. With all that said the night went just as expected, no surprises.

The -RNC leadership are obsessed with fund raising and private planes, fancy hotels and parties.
The only thing I’ve seen lately that really works is motivating parents to protect their children.
Florida did this with the Million Moms movement.
Florida completely flipped to Rs.
