Critics warn that Biden’s hydrogen initiative could become next green energy boondoggle

Another spoke in President Joe Biden’s climate policy wheel is the production of hydrogen, which was referred to as a “key pillar of Bidenomics” in an announcement $7 billion in funding for hydrogen hubs across the country.

Other troubled green initiatives Biden has been rolling out include the development of offshore wind energy and the widespread adoption of electric vehicles. This past month both the offshore wind and the electric vehicle industries have seen significant losses as a result of problems that experts, such as energy writer Robert Bryce and Manhattan Institute Senior Fellow Mark Mills, have long been warning about.

Some experts are warning that the plan to replace fossil fuels with hydrogen is just as lacking in forethought and economic sensibility as EV mandates and offshore wind development. “We’re going to completely buy a hydrogen economy with your federal tax dollars. It’s just loony,” Steve Goreham, an energy researcher and author of “Green Breakdown,” told Just The News.

We are wasting money on carbon neutral energy while our economic competitors are building coal plants. Why?

“Another looney green new deal boondoggle with your tax dollars.”

The politicians love it, both sides. The public buys it, as long as it’s “green” and “sustainable”.

The main thing you need to know about hydrogen energy is that the Dims support it.

There are a few use cases where hydrogen energy is a good thing. But they are few and certainly not worth trying to do at the grid level.

If somebody could figure out how to “manufacture”/mass-produce hydrogen in both a cost-effective and energy-efficient manner, I’d be all for this. But instead this is a typical Democrat move: implement (which often involves the words require/demand/enforce) a “solution” before any of that feasibility groundwork has been established.

I have designed new Hydrogen Catalyst Batteries that convert wind and solar energy to hydrogen, that then powers multi-layered lithium carbon nanotubes, to synergistically deliver carbon neutral power to drive multi-platform uses, both industrial and consumer.

When do I get my grant check? Minus 10% of course.....

Jimmy Carter did the first one, with his synthetic fuels program. That turned out to be a waste of money, and it wouldn’t pass muster with the greenies anyway.

Because we are the Harrison Bergeron of the world, and all this “green technology” are the heavy chains and thick spectacles that the government needs to burden us with so that the other nations can outcompete us. That’s the whole point of this endeavor.

Hydrogen has to be produced...

Natural Gas is raw and can be piped endlessly.

It took more energy to produce that hydrogen than was generated in that few moments of destruction.............

maybe they can use all of those sustainable windmills and solar farms littering the landscape to produce enough hydrogen to power a few go-cart size smart cars

after all, every little bit helps, like how one volcanic eruption cancels out all the vehicle emissions standard efforts for all time within one hour of spewing poison gas

Another insane woke money-grab and power-grab, paid for with printed fiat dollars and massive government debt.

So I’m listening to the local news this morning. Some lady is talking about how bad inflation is. And she interviewed some people who were really hurting. Then she talked about the ways to cope with inflation. She mentioned things like using coupons, buying in bulk, etc.

Funny that she didn’t mention the cause, how Biden’s wild spending is crushing the country. Maybe she just ran out of time. Or maybe she thinks inflation is just something that fell out of the sky.

This is not much different than complaining about wolf attacks, but for some reason not actually mentioning the wolves.

Good battery proposal, yours. You’ve got the green energy thing covered. Plus there’s enough fancy words to impress the impressionable.

Unfortunately, you’re missing one key ingredient. There is no mention of transsexual rights. So I suggest that you include in your proposal a promise to appoint a transsexual as CEO.

You don’t have to actually do that. In fact, you don’t have to do anything. Just wait until the grant check clears, then walk away from the whole mess.

PC means you cannot actually discuss the cause of the problem; you can only talk around the cause.
