Ukrainian President Zelensky does not think the situation on the front in Ukraine is a stalemate and has said that Ukraine will not negotiate with Russia.

Details: A recent article in The Economist quoted Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as saying that the situation on the front is at a stalemate. Zelenskyy responded to this by saying there was no stalemate.
Quote from Zelenskyy: "This is not a stalemate. Russia controls the sky. We are protecting our troops. No one [in Ukraine] wants to just throw our people [into the battle] like Russia does [...]
How can we overcome it? With the F-16s, we have to wait for our guys to get trained and for them to come back. When there’s air defence on the front, our soldiers advance, and they deploy the equipment they have."

Zelensky’s grift ends when the war ends. He benefits by keeping it going, casualties be damned.

There are two end games in Ukraine.
The first is total economic and military collapse soon after the West pulls the economic and military life support to the brain dead Ukraine leadership. This option leaves the Ukraine completely at the mercy of Russia.
The second is to use the remaining Western support to enhance the Ukrainian negotiating position so that they can cut the best possible deal with Russia to end the conflict.
Their leverage to get the best deal has been steadily evaporating over the last year as Russia digs a deeper hole they need to salvage and the Ukraine players and backers refused to accept the reality that there will not be Ukrainian tanks parading through the streets of Crimea and Red Square.
Hundreds of thousands of people on both sides have been killed and wounded in this insanity while the conflict has dragged on.
It's like Hitler hanging out in the Fuhrer Bunker ordering the German army to fight to the bitter end and total destruction of the German Home land. .
