Police: Chicago Teen Violently Robs Store While out on Pretrial Release
Breitbart ^ | November 2, 2023 | OLIVIA RONDEAU

An 18-year-old Chicago man managed to violently rob a sporting goods store while out on pretrial release with seven previous cases pending, officials say.

Jaquan Bush, who has six prior juvenile cases, was out on bond for an adult charge of possessing a stolen motor vehicle when he entered a Champs store in the city’s expensive Loop neighborhood on September 17, CWB Chicago reported.

Prosecutors alleged Bush grabbed a Nike jacket off a display rack and rushed for the door. He was confronted by the store manager, who believed he recognized Bush from a previous robbery, and a struggle ensued.

Bush then allegedly pulled out a knife, “lunged” at a female employee, snatched the jacket from her hands as she attempted to pull it away from him, and escaped.

While police were still investigating the robbery, Bush managed to land himself yet another felony case. He was arrested for possessing a firearm when cops responding to gunfire and reports of a person shot “said they saw Bush walking down a street with one side of his hoodie weighted down,” the local outlet reported.

Bush attempted to run away and led officers on a chase into his backyard, where they discovered that he had ditched the gun under the porch, police said.

Officers also reported having to call for backup when Bush’s “irate” family members surrounded the cops.

Bush has not been accused of the shooting reports at this time.

When finally taken into custody, once again, Judge Mary Marubio ordered the teen to be detained for violating pretrial release conditions in a stolen vehicle case. That previous incident involved Bush bailing from a stolen Kia Optima when police observed him parking it on June 30, officials said.

He’ll get pretrial release and probation after trial. Right back out to get another 5 or 6 felonies recorded in the next couple of years. Rince and repeat.

I’m sure those “irate” family members were just calmly explaining to the cops that Jaquan is a good boy who’s turning his life around and was just stealing to pay his tuition to engineering school.

I think I see the problem here. The ‘Champs’ store is not smart enough to get out of Chicago.

He will go to prison- be back out on the streets because his ‘irate family’ will scream about racism and police brutality

Coward Piven. They want chaos and they don’t care that they are not doing the young people of this country any favors by not disciplining them when they are young and might do them some good.
The left does not want responsible, upright citizens. The left has no use for people with integrity and ethics. Instead, they want masses of terrified sheep and wolves they can manipulate to keep them that way.

Adult or juvenile it Makes no difference to him. He’s obviously a career criminal and the Democrat revolving door “Justice” system will have him out preying on society until some public spirited citizen kills him.

“Bush attempted to run away and led officers on a chase into his backyard...”

I thought Chicago police were prohibited from chasing fleeing criminal suspects. I expect the officers involved to be punished for violating policy.

Bush is just a career criminal and will be a ward of the criminal system at taxpayers expense. Get a rope and a tree and end the problem.

I watch a lot of REAL court on YouTube.

You might see a video of a car chase (pursuit). The perp gets caught and is charged with 20 violations/crimes.

You think even if he gets ONE year for each, he is gone for 20 years!

Oh no, my friend.

He will end up pleading guilty to ONE REDUCED charge and put on probation with conditions that if he violates just ONE of these conditions (ZERO drugs, ZERO alcohol, ZERO new arrests, ZERO contact with whomever, ZERO contact at a certain address, get a job, go to treatment, go to AA, regular and random drug/alcohol tests, random/regular home visits, make regular payments on fines/restitution to victims, anger management/other classes, and maybe MORE, he can be sentenced for the original offence often YEARS/to LIFE in PRISON.

THEN, they are let out on bond/or no bond on YOUR streets.

So do they violate?

OF COURSE THEY DO!

What happens? LIFE in prison? 20 YEARS in prison?

HELL NO! A NEW probation DEAL is worked out with maybe extra time and/or added conditions and BACK OUT ON YOUR STREETS!

Rinse repeat.

On the news they will report that this example criminal could get up to 100 years in jail if convicted of all charges.

All they get is probation.

Here are some that I watch, there are MANY others.

https://www.youtube.com/@judgestephanieboyd4233

https://www.youtube.com/@judgejeffreymiddleton7573

https://www.youtube.com/@27thdistrictcourt67/featured

Some judges are live only, but their court videos are all over YouTube.

Judge Stephanie Boyd

Judge Jeffery Middleton

Judge Elizabeth DiSanto

Judge E. Lynise Bryant

Judge John Stevens Jr.

Judge J. Cedric Simpson

Judge Erane C. Washington

Many hearings are dry and dragged out. It takes some discipline to to stay with them.

I suggest starting with Law Talk With Mike or Time Served. There you will see more funny/interesting cases, edited and fast forwarded through delays or boring parts.

It is a real EDUCATION!
