When I read this I just think of World War Z, and these people are the zombies.
But in reality they're just typical kids: They think they know everything, but they really know nothing. They think they have a voice, but they are really just somebody else's sock puppets.
And it's not really their fault. They've been indoctrinated since they were babies to believe these things, and only those children with conservative parents able and willing to change their education, know the difference.
