In addition to the whirlwind of speculative and inaccurate reporting, several prominent members of the national media have spent the last week calling for the Big Ten conference and the NCAA to hand out some form of punishment to the Michigan football program - and to do so before the investigation is even complete. To be clear, none of those national media members have seen any evidence regarding what took place and who was involved, yet that hasn't prevented them from calling for action.

ESPN needs payback for the drama they have created in sports over the years.

If I were in a position of power I would single them out somehow for sanction but I am not the POTUS or anything like that.

I disagree. Sounds like the SI writer is fussing about other sports media doing it. IMHO their venom is two-fold: 1) Michigan is one of the big dogs right now and it's always fun to take down Goliath. And 2) Michigan coach Harbaugh made the cardinal media sin of being a pro-life advocate. For that heresy the media inquisition is looking for kindling.

The BIG 10 is a lie.

Prosecute as desired.

I suspect the knowledge of the Sign Stealing goes higher up in the Michigan University Management than they want to admit.

If Sign Stealing is against the NAACF Rules then remove Michigan for the rest of the Season!

I am an Ohio State alum and football fan. OSU internet sports forums are ablaze with calls to burn Harbaugh and his program at the stake. Yet with out due process and dillegence, the media is just whoring for clicks and revenue.

They didn’t give it to Penn State.

I am an OSU fan from birth but have lived in Ann Arbor for 30 years. (Four family members have UM degrees.) I have followed media reports around this quite closely. There is almost no solid evidence for or against the allegations raised. It is impressive how folks are jumping to conclusions, and yes, the media is stoking it all. ESPN is especially risible.

Based on what I am hearing around town, all smoke teeny tiny fire. I do not know but would wager that Harbaugh’s extension goes through some time before the Buckeyes beat his team later this month on the gridiron. :)

Speculation is TCU knew about it, and that’s why they made Michigan look so silly.
