We once had a law that required the Governor to resign if he chose to run for a higher office.
Gee, wonder what happened to that law?
Oh that’s right, the legislators changed it which indicates that they were just as dumb as Ron in thinking he would win.
In reality, I think he had the law changed because he wasn't that certain of his chances to win the nomination. He was protecting himself, providing himself with a job to go back to, if his run failed. If he'd been certain of his chances, he wouldn't have needed to get the law changed. I really don't think he had that much faith in himself to begin with.
