Customers of one of America’s biggest airlines are expressing outrage after the implementation of a new boarding method, known as WILMA.
Starting Thursday, those flying economy on United flights around the country began boarding with the new system, which sees passengers in window seats enter the aircraft first, regardless of the row.
Those booked into middle seats subsequently board the plane, followed by those in aisle seats.
United says the system helps ease congestion of the plane’s aisles and ultimately speeds up the time it takes for all fliers to take their seats.

Not all that clear is whether passengers who purchase premium comfort+ economy seats in the front of the plane will be grouped with the basic economy and economy passengers in the back of the plane. I always spend the extra money for a comfort+ aisle seat because I am tall with long legs, self-conscious about having to make multiple trips to the rest room due to men's health issues, and most importantly, I am legally deaf and need to be on the aisle to communicate with the flight crew. Under the WILMA, what's the point in spending the extra money.
With a simple review of the names on a flight manifest, AI can predict the likelihood of a brawl or disturbance with 99.9% accuracy.
Can you imagine if Ghetto Airlines (aka Spirit Airlines) did this?
My sister took an Amtrak train recently. Small station, we parked right in front. Zero porno-scan/TSA security. We all walked right up to the tracks. Brought on board all her luggage. Train was actually on time
It felt really normal.
Imagine what rail could like if it were no longer owned/controlled by government, was not so highly controlled and regulated, and private and local options were allowed to develop organically?
Make sure Fred gets a good seat or there will be hell to pay...
That’s why I enjoy taking the train when I go to Europe.
Took one recently from London to Edinburgh, about 4 hours, and just simply got off the train, and walked about a quarter of a mile to the hotel.
That probably true — and amusing.
America is being overrun with hostile, illegal alien “immigrants” and the idiots are pissed off about when they get to board an airplane. Geez.
You gotta let your soulll glowww on Spirit, baby.
Sounds nice.
My nearest AmTrack station is just 185 miles away...
Wait til they start boarding passengers in order of decreasing mass!

Had not thought of that. Sad, but probably true.
I agree. I’d much rather travel by train in Europe.
you nailed it
We are losing our 1st world nation but people still have their heads in the sand worrying about 1st world problems and ignoring the threat. You won’t have 1st world problems to worry about when America and Europe are no longer 1st world.
Wow. Two whole minutes.
Imagine is a song title, no way the government is voluntarily going to get smaller.
Step on the plane, find your seat, sit down, shut up, eat your peanuts, and when the plane lands, get off the plane.
Don’t fight, argue, take an excessive amount of carry-on baggage, don’t try to sell me insurance, or tell me about your grandchildren.
So, a parent flying with a young child may end up boarding separately from them?
