Been hearing this for a while. Until it actually happens, though, it’s all just doom and gloom.

And after it happens?

Markets go through cycles, boom and bust, bear and bull.

“Doom Porn”. The market isn’t going anywhere as long as TPTB props it up. I thought Silicone Valley Bank was going to be a moment but the Fed did what the Fed does.
If DJT was the POTUS, we’d been in the crapper for sure because the MSM would say we were. 5.4% GDP 3rd qtr 2023. Watch!

Bingo-—for over a year or two I have been hearing “this is it, the market will drop”. Luckily I haven’t changed too much.

However, I believe it’s being manipulated (big time). All these small businesses going out of business and these fortune 500s getting the business from these closed businesses, is the reason for the market not crashing.

However, in the long term this can not continue to stay stable. When will it happen, I don’t know. But it’s inevitable unless our government stops the spending spree and we get back to smaller companies growing again.

I think I'm reading you to say that all the "talk" about a crash is doom and gloom, even though things really ARE doom and gloom regardless! But if you meant the former, I tend to agree with you, although I'm far from pollyannish when it comes to financial topics. The main problem is that most all assets are illiquid ones, with homes in that category, too, even if you have no mortgage. Unless you have plenty of ready cash on hand, you're in the middle of the giant sinkhole with everyone else.

I've been hearing the stock market is about to crash since I was in fourth grade.

I'm in my 60s now.
