The Republican party has lost all pretense of representing me
as a White middle class male. 200 members of the party voted
for Jordan. 22 were able to buffalo them into withdrawing the
man I considered the best bet.

22 Republicans ruled the 200.

Folks, the party no longer has any ability to coerce the few
to join the vast majority. While some may see that as a good
thing, it also means that the majority of the party is
essentially worthless to us, the rank and file Republicans.

The 22 go along to get along moderates ruled the day.

Our chance of getting a Conservative into the Speaker’s
chair is 0.00%.

Why have I wasted 54 years of my life as a registered
Republican, thinking one day they would see the light?

Never gonna happen!

I say burn it down and lets start over. They have stolen from the people long enough. I don’t know about you but this GOP party has burnt the last bridge between me and them. I am finished voting for them. President Trump will get my last VOTE.

More distractions and a delay tactic to keep the Bidens out of the headlines.

9 candidates have joined the House speaker race

Just carried out a search of nearly one million editions of California newspapers, dating back to the mid-19th century.

Found not a single "hit" for "house speaker race," and only a single "hit" for "race for speaker of the house."

The latter was in the "Santa Ana Journal," dated October 18, 1935, and referred to the California State Legislature; specifically, to "Mr. Jones, who was defeated by Ted Craig of Brea in the race for speaker of the house, touched briefly upon what he considered to be the most important bills handled in the last legislature."

I could, of course, expand my search to include references to "vying for the speakership of the House," etc. - but I think I am safe in saying that this contest is unique in U.S. history.

Regards,
