I wouldn't call Maher a comedian. He provides commentary, that's it. Especially on political issues.

He sees himself as an intellectual but I see him as a lightweight.

Right, Maher has the mistaken belief that he is an insightful intellectual jacked in to special knowledge when for the most part he is jacked in to a bunch of BS. He is certainly not an intellectual.

Hubby and I watched a stand-up special Maher had on whatever cable channel it was. Filthy and not that funny.

He’s def. better at the commentary/general chat stuff.
