Isn’t McHenry McCarthy’s butt buddy? Remember how he smashed down the gavel after the vote for KM to vacate the seat? He was extremely pissed off about that.

No cohorts of KM should be running anything. Luntz and his associates will have power behind the scenes.

Contact your congressman. Jordan or no one. A nap or time out is fine between now and then. They are like a bunch of unruly two year olds destroying the country anyhow.

...a permanent speaker pro tem.

A permanent speaker pro tem??? Isn't that an oxymoron?

If that happens, watch the Dems demand a “coalition” govt.

You can be sure that the PTB would “love” a major event of some kind in America right now. What else to put KM back in the Speaker’s chair and open the purse strings to a $2T+ MIC budget.

I don't think so.

Republicans with the lowest conservative ratings included those known for more moderate stances and working across the aisle with Democrats:

- Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick of Pennsylvania, co-chair of the bipartisan Problem Solvers’ Caucus (24%)

- Former Rep. John Katko of New York (26%).

- Former Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois (29%).

- Former Rep. Fred Upton of Michigan (35%).

- Rep. Anthony Gonzalez of Texas (37%).

- Sen. Susan Collins of Maine (38%).

- Sen. Lisa Murkowski of Alaska (43%).

- Rep. David Joyce of Ohio (47%).

- Former Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri (50%).

- Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio (52%).

I expect this is an attempt to buy time. The caucus unites to elect McHenry as an interim replacement with full Speaker powers. Then has more time for Jordan, or someone else to cobble together a majority.

It would block Jefferies attempt to peel some GOP laggards and take the speakership for the Democrats.

He will get many fewer votes than Jordan.

Getting rid of McCarthy was not a clown show, despite what all the pundits were claiming. It was merely enforcing a rule agreed to by McCarthy. But this haggling by Republicans is certainly a clown show. It reveals the depravity and corruption of some of the RINOs. They prefer rule or ruin.
