House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-LA) is attempting to undermine Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan’s (R-OH) bid for the Speakership gavel after voting for him on the first ballot, sources familiar with the matter have confirmed to Breitbart News.
CNN’s Annie Grayer noted on X that the majority leader would not commit to helping Jordan secure the 17 outstanding votes he needs for the top House job. This is despite Jordan requesting his aid, as the House has not had a Speaker since now-former Speaker Kevin McCarthy was removed on October 3. Sources on Capitol Hill have confirmed Grayer’s reporting to Breitbart News.

Why don’t these dumb clueless republicans just hand the gavel back to Pelosi. It’s obvious they are incapable of leading
Thanks for posting that article by Sean Davis.
I vaguely remembered how Steve Scalise had fired Paul Teller and the Republican Study Committee (RSC) staff. It was disgraceful. Scalise is an enemy of conservatism. He’s no different than Boehner, Ryan and McCarthy.
Steve Scalise is just another Conman from Louisiana.
Bought and paid for by Lobbyists.
Time he exits Stage Left.
😡🤬😡🤬
Scalia’s dropped out. He should just stay out instead of sour grape nonsense... Or whatever his problem is.
He has/had cancer. He is not well.
Well they know 90% of the base wants Jordan and it means nothing absolutely nothing and they knew that when they tried to shove Scalise through.
“Sources familiar.” Really?
Anonymous sources are fine and dandy if they back your preconceived reality, am I right?
Undoubtedly some intrepid reporter could find or invent an anonymous source to suggest Jordan backstabbed McCarthy and Scalise.
Jordan announced that any bill that will help Israel, will also include money for Ukraine.
The potential NEW BOSS. Is the same as the OLD BOSS
Amazing how easy the voters get bamboozled with these clowns. They’re all the same.
Were you saying the same thing back in January concerning the hold outs with McCarthy?
“Well they know 90% of the base wants Jordan and it means nothing absolutely nothing and they knew that when they tried to shove Scalise through.”
Two points:
1. I Googled “jordan public polling speaker” and found nothing. do you have anything to back your 90% claim?
2. Innumerable times I’ve read how we live in a republic, not a democracy, and that a republic buffers us from the great unwashed masses seizing control. The downside to that is that we don’t have popular votes for legislative issues.
Stupid republican’ts. They are no better than the democraps, and they’ve proven it over and over and over again for at least the last 20 years.
Oh so, continue to get screwed in funding deals under McCarthy. that’s your plan?
McCarthy could have rallied the Republicans and threw it all in the face of the democrats.
Republicans had 9 mo the go actuallu come up with a real budget, with no pork, and dare the democrats to challenge them.
What did he do?
Caves to Biden. And more of the same with CRs. Guess it’s ok that McCarthy broke all the promises he made to get things right and be transparent.
Ok what would you guess the result of polling the base on Jordan would be? It would be a lot closer to 100% than 50%. This is just like the chairman contest. They did poll the base and the last person they wanted was Ronna and that’s who we got. I think the Republic vs Democracy distinction is not part of this.
That’s fine. The MAGA wing can hold out longer than the RINO’s. They just need to hold their ground. Jordan should be their line in the sand. If Jordan’s not good enough for the RINO’s, then the freedom caucus should negotiate for a compromise candidate. Start with Biggs, Gaetz and then Trump - in that order.
Wrong. He said he would allow a floor vote. It doesn’t matter l think he’s toast. Scalise working against him is insurmountable.
I admire the way he came back after being shot by a Democrat, but I don’t like his record.
The clot shot causes cancer.
