Australia has overwhelmingly rejected a plan to give greater rights to Indigenous people in a referendum.

All six states voted no to a proposal to change the constitution to recognise Indigenous citizens and create an advisory body to the government.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said defeat was hard: "When you aim high, sometimes you fall short. We understand and respect that we have."

Opposition leader Peter Dutton said the result was "good for our country".

I don’t know Australian laws. But, don’t aborigines have equal rights already? What additional rights are they looking for?

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said defeat was hard: "When you aim high, sometimes you fall short. We understand and respect that we have."

To translate that into Truthful English: "Damn, why didn't we stuff the boxes like the Yank lefties do?"

The voters are just protecting their indigenous people from the bureaucrats.

The abos are just pawns in this.

The elites who dreamed this up were looking for the same power grab as the US Civil Right Act - where they made it the Second Constitution.

“But, don’t aborigines have equal rights already?”

Yeah but, as with the American left protecting the American blacks, the Australian left thinks the Aboriginals are so simple & backward they need to have some additional rights & privileges.

Just goes to show that a few in the Western world are waking up and coming to their collective senses.

Not many -- but some. Maybe/hopefully this is a trend.

where they made it the Second Constitution.

/\ This.

For example, the proper response to the Alabama redistricting is that in the absence of any evidence of racial discrimination (as opposed to political), the Federal government (including the Federal courts) have no authority to infringe upon the redistricting powers given to the states by the actual Constitution.

The Aussie government will find a way to impose this anyway. “No” supporters were repressed, arrested, beaten, and fired from their jobs. “No” not being an acceptable outcome to the fascists who rule Australia.
